Plans for the town were drawn up in 1826, expecting that it would eventually become a Delaware River port and commercial center to become a rival to Philadelphia. In 1829 Delaware City became an operating base and a way station for important shipping activities because of Its location at the eastern terminal of the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal.
Hello from slower, lower Delaware. I have always loved photography.
