Description
On an Eco Water Tour on Indian River in Southern Delaware this Summer, we experienced the beauty of the waterways and wetlands and saw a variety of birds and waterfowl. Flowing just southwest of Georgetown and east past Millsboro into the Indian River Bay, it is fifteen miles long. Hundreds of wildlife, fish and birds live, feed and reproduce here. The Indian River is an estuary protected from the full force
of ocean waves, storms and winds and is the seasonal home for migratory birds to find rest during their long journey. The Eco Tour's Pontoon "Bus" was able to take us right up to the bird Sanctuary to see many perched, on shore and in flight. The tour guide told us the name of this place is referred to as "Middle Island".
